Fans of Erdogan hacked German and Dutch web sites
Unknown persons hacked into 11 websites of companies, parties and media organizations from Northern Germany and the Netherlands on Wednesday, April 12. This was reported by the Bremen online newspaper "Weser-Kurier".
These websites were ‘redesigned’ using the images of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with captions "President Erdogan the Conqueror" and "After April 16 we will force Europe to answer for what they have done".
Prior to this, in mid-March, hackers started interfering in online debates over the Turkish political situation by spreading anti-German and anti-Dutch hate messages using over a thousand Twitter accounts.
Among websites compromised by hackers are home pages of Bremenports, Bremische Hafenvertretung (BHV), “Nord-West-Media TV“, Dutch broadcasting station „Concertzender“, German site about triathlon “Triabolos” (Hamburg), the website of the CDU party in Hemmingen.
As per the Bremenports spokesman, the intruders used external servers, the internal IT structure was not affected. Also, according to „Weser-Kurier“, hackers used email address “anonimus[at]mail.com” and pretended to be Turkish citizens.
The reason for the attack, as given by the perpetrators, was supposedly the desire of Turkish people to respond to the constant humiliation and insults inflicted on the national honor by "aggressive and undemocratic actions" of European countries.
