Shock as Germany continue to pay welfare for a year to ISIS jihadi fighting in Syria

Since Eduard A. and his wife left Wolfsburg for Syria in the autumn of 2014 they cashed in nearly 20,000 euros worth of benefits - unemployment money, child support and care allowances.

Ethnic Russians Eduard A., 29, and his wife, 34, departed with their twin children for the front lines of the savage Islamic State war despite being on a watch list by authorities who suspected them of plotting a domestic act of terror.

Now it has emerged that the duo made arrangements for all their benefits to go into an account in the name of Eduard A.'s wife.

Her father drew the money out with a credit card and hid it in a plastic bag in his bathroom.

He was caught when authorities made a routine audit of social security claimants and fined 7,000 euros a week ago.
Wolfsburg council spokesman Elke Wichmann said the payments stopped ten months after they left for Syria.

They won't be coming home to face the music; the local State Criminal Office has information that the duo were killed in heavy fighting around the self-proclaimed Islamic State capital of Raqqa.
